Invoicing Tax Codes

All GST is automatically coded to GL account 2010 - GST Payable

All PST is automatically coded to GL account 2020 - PST Payable

All HST is automatically coded to GL account 2030 - HST Payable

 

GP_BC: 5% GST & 7% PST applied.

GP_SASK: 5% GST & 6% PST applied.

GP_QUE: 5% GST & 9.975 QST applied.

GST: 5% GST applied.

HST_NS: 15% HST applied.

HST_ON: 13% HST applied.

NIL: Tax exempt.

AP & AR Payment Terms

Payment terms are set up by a code, identified by inputting numbers 0-10. When a payment term is entered in the AP field, a discount will automatically be calculated if the invoice is paid within the payment terms and brought into the payment control. The payment terms codes are as follows:

 

0: Due on receipt - no discount.

1: Net 30 - no discount.

2: 1/10 Net 30 - 1% discount if paid within 10 days.

3: 1/15 Net 30 - 1% discount if paid within 15 days.

4: 1/20 Net 30 - 1% discount if paid within 20 days.

5: 2/10 Net 30 - 2% discount if paid within 10 days.

6: 2/15 Net 30 - 2% discount if paid within 15 days.

7: 2/20 Net 30 - 2% discount if paid within 20 days.

8: 3/10 Net 30 - 3% discount if paid within 10 days.

9: 3/15 Net 30 - 3% discount if paid within 15 days.

10: 3/20 Net 30 - 3% discount if paid within 20 days.

Chart of Accounts

Each account classification within the Chart of Accounts has its own range of numbers. Each account within that specific class must be within that range, or an error will be shown while entering a new account. The range of accounts can be found below.

 

1000 - 1999: Asset

2000 - 2999: Liability

3000 - 3999: Equity 

4000 - 4999: Revenue

5000 - 5999: Expense

Emailing Set-up

To set-up the emailing feature within SoftFin Accounting, you must enable SMTP within your email provider. To find how to set up SMTP within your specific email provider, find the documentation at the links below.

After the email account has SMTP enabled, you can enter your email information within SoftFin Accounting and begin using this feature. This email information is stored locally, so if you use a different machine the credentials will need to be entered again.
